What I'm Wearing: Maxi Dress made by me // Belt, Sandals, Earrings Forever 21

Today I kept my outfit very simple. I also didn't have much choice in what I could wear because I needed to wash my clothes {I've already worn all of my tops & skirts}. You really come to appreciate a closet full of clothes when you don't have many options.

An other thing, today's photos aren't that great as I took them myself with a self-timer & tripod. I really need to learn to take self-pictures so Gaby & my brother don't always have to take them for me.

Oh! I was asked in a comment {here} how I turned this dress into a sleeveless dress. Well, I just took two leftover pieces of fabric {that were thin} and tied the sleeves up. Very simple. I also flipped the bows to the underside.

Lately this has been my go-to outfit for Monday's ever since I was sent this skirt by Kosher Casual. I wear the skirt at least once a week, sometimes even twice a week. That's how you know I really love an item. *grin* Once again I'm wearing my TOMS. Would you believe that before Saturday I never wore my TOMS a whole day, or even an hour. I guess I wasn't sure on how to wear them, this event has just forced me to wear them. Guess what? I've come to really enjoy wearing them. In fact, I wouldn't mind owning another pair now. That's what I take from this remix challenge - learning to style things that I'm unsure about. It helps me expand my fashion horizons.

Howdy all! I'm wearing my new hi-low maxi skirt today. I l.o.v.e this skirt as so many of my tops go with the skirt - which makes it great for remixing. I love versatile pieces, they make your closet less boring. Sometimes you need to go shopping in your closet to find new ways to wear what you already own when you get that shopping bug. *grin* Of course, sometimes that doesn't work.

This is also the first time I showed my new Hermes Birkin bag in a blog post. I ordered it on a Sunday two weeks ago and that Saturday {6 days later} I was opening the package. Of course, it helps that the fulfillment center is only like two - three hours away from me. Anyways, the bag is from JustFablous and they had a special when I signed up for the site that you could get anything for $19 something that day only. I wasn't about to pass up that price, so when I saw this Birkin inspired bag I quickly placed my order as I adore the real Birkin bags, but I could never own a real one. This is the next best thing. Besides, it also doubles as a laptop bag when I go to work on Mondays.

This is what I wore after church. Oh, do y'all like this picture setting? Me and Gaby found it when we went for a walk this evening down a country road by our house. We also found a stream full of fish. Me thinks we might go here more often during the summer and fall for outfit pictures. It just takes us about 45 minutes to walk there and back to our house.

As you can see, I've switched some items out because of the weather. The pink fabric for my H&M blazer. Gingham fabric for my red TOMS. And I'll have to switch out one of my tops for these jeans - haven't decided which one yet.

Anyways, we spent this afternoon going to two graduation open houses. I don't think I've mentioned this, but Gabrielle will be graduating from High School next Saturday. Isn't that exciting?!? Which means she might post more often on BF & her blog this Summer & Fall.

Excuse me as I recover from the cold front outside. Who would have thought that on June 1st it would feel like winter is coming?!? Not me! Since I don't have a finished blazer, or cardigan in my 15 items pile I reached for the warmest tee I did have. But wait! I only have open toed wedges & sandals for shoes. Oh, dear. Me thinks I'll have to switch some items out. I'm going to change the fabric for a blazer out for either cardigan or blazer. Would you believe that I don't own a basic blazer pattern and I have hundreds of patterns!?! I'm also going to switch out the fabric for a gingham blouse for a pair of jeans. Who knows? I might switch out something else for a pair of flats, or my red TOMS. I guess I should have checked the weather before picking out my items. *grin* Oh, well.

As you can see, I'm starting this remix challenge with a bang & mixing two prints together! Stripes & polka-dots. Do you like mixing prints? Or the mixing prints trend in general?
